So I found myself back in the blogosphere this morning. It was cool to back and read through my posts, especially considering how much my life has changed in the past year or two, and recall the creative (I use this attribute loosely and humbly) writing aspect of blogging and what a good outlet it was. I always enjoyed writing my Five Senses Friday and/or Sunday posts, so I'll jump right into one of those...
Seeing: girlfriend is playing and practicing skills she wants to master. Before becoming a mom, it never even occurred to me that seeing a tiny human roll over for the first time, grasp something without missing, and make a new consonant sound would be so exciting. It's easy to take for granted being able to do basic things, like sit up with no help. Oh, and baby toes slay me.
Hearing: the sweet sounds of my baby girl exploring her voice, with Eddie Vedder crooning in the background.
Smelling: the lingering aroma of toasted bread from our breakfast. There's just something about the smell of toast that's comforting to me...silly, maybe, but whatever.
Tasting: the smooth smokiness of my perfectly proportioned mug of Peets coffee with milk
Feeling: relieved that the great nap strike of August 2015 is over (provided M has someone on whom to nap, that is).
